The Saints and special teams captain Courtney Roby have agreed to terms on a new contract, the receiver's agent Mark Bloom said Sunday afternoon.

The move, first reported by WWL-AM's Kristian Garic, is the first of New Orleans' unrestricted free agents to stick around. Tackle Jermon Bushrod (Chicago), linebacker Jonathan Casillas (Tampa Bay) and quarterback Chase Daniel (Kansas City) all signed elsewhere.

Roby was the Saints' special teams captain the past two seasons and has proven to be a valuable player on the punt team as a gunner.

He blocked a punt and recovered it for a touchdown in the team's season-opener against Washington. He finished with eight tackles and two assists on special teams. He has played in 61 career games with New Orleans.
