NEWORLEANS - Police are searching for a 19-year-old after he attempted to rob a man, shot him and then fled, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oscar Anthony James approached the victim in the 2900 block of Cambronne Street, police said.

James is wanted for attempted first degree murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault.

He is on parole until 2014 for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and illegal carrying of a weapon. He was previously arrested for concealed weapon, crack possession, illegal firearm during a crime, resisting a police officer, simple escape, battery, criminal damage to property, trespassing and possession of stolen property.
