HARVEY, La. A single gunshot ended the life of a Harvey man in his garage late Monday night, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

Robert Casbon, 23, was found with a wound to his chest in the garage of his Cimwood Drive home, Col. John Fortunato said. He was taken to University Hospital where he later died.

The murder was the second one Monday night in Harvey.

According to Fortunato, Casbon's family members told detectives that he was drinking with two unidentified men when they heard a single shot fired. Once in the garage, they found Casbon lying on the ground, shot in the chest, Fortunato said.

The family members told detectives they never saw anyone armed with a firearm before the shot was fired, Fortunato said.

Investigators found a single spent shell on the ground near Casbon and are now looking for clues as to who the men were when he was shot and the motive for the murder, Fortunato said.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 or investigating officer at 504-364-5300.
