COVINGTON, La. Covington police arrested two people in relation to an armed robbery involving a stun gun, according to the Covington Police Department.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Monday in the 400 block of Kirkland Street. A woman was attacked with the electronic gun and her purse was stolen.

After releasing information on the incident to the public, the CPD received multiple tips and were able to identify the perpetrators as a couple from Hammond.

Around 1 p.m. on Thursday, investigators arrested Bobbie Porter, 23, for principal to armed robbery. She was the driver in the getaway vehicle, police said. During the booking process, Porter told police she had bought the weapon used in the Covington robbery.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, investigators arrested Porter's boyfriend, James Kentrell, 22, for armed robbery. During the booking process, Kentrell told police he had been awake for five days on meth when he attacked the woman.

Both subjects remain in St. Tammany Parish Jail.
