MANDEVILLE, La. Mandeville Police believe the victim in Sunday evening's shooting on the Tammany Trace was not a random act, though they haven't identified a motive for it yet, authorities said late Monday morning.

Leonard J. Breaux Jr., 24, is still in serious condition after being transferred to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Police are searching for Breaux's 1999 white Buick Century with either a temporary tag or a Louisiana license plate bearing XND463, Mandeville Public Information Officer Lt. Gerald Sticker said.

Breaux Jr., from Covington, La., was found unconscious Sunday night on the Tammany Trace near Colbert Street. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head and taken to Lakeview Hospital in Mandeville.

The last time the Mandeville Police Department investigated a shooting was in August 2011.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111 or the department's investigations division at 985-624-3119.
