NEWORLEANS - A car drove into the living room of a New Orleans East home early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at Warfield and Shalimar.

Israel Minga, his pregnant wife, his six-year-old son and a caretaker were inside sleeping and were uninjured.

Two men were in the car, which police said is a rental, according to Minga. One of the men in the car ran and the other was taken away by Emergency Medical Services.

'They tried to run, and mostly they tried to take the car. They tried to pull the car back, but the car got stuck in there and they couldn't do that. One guy tried to run and he said, 'I was not the driver. It was not my fault.' So that guy stayed here, but the other guy ran away,' Minga said.

There is significant damage to the living room, Minga said, and he planned to contact the insurance company.

Around 5 a.m., the car was towed away, and the family put up a board where the living room wall used to be.
