METAIRIE, La. Five players, including defensive end Glenn Foster, didn't practice Thursday for the Saints as New Orleans continued preparations for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.
Foster was limited during Wednesday's session, but dropped back to not practicing as he continues rehabilitating an ankle he injured in New Orleans' final preseason game against Miami on Aug. 29.
When asked a question about Foster, coach Sean Payton did not give an explanation on his status.
'One of the things that I like what we're doing this year is I'm not going to discuss anything about an injured player,' Payton said.
Defensive end Tyrunn Walker (knee), defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (calf), safety Isa Abdul-Quddus (ankle) and cornerback Corey White (illness) also didn't work Thursday.
When asked about a report by NFL.com on Bunkley's status, Payton refused to answer, saying, 'I'm not interested in someone else's report.'
Meanwhile, linebacker Curtis Lofton (knee), cornerback Jabari Greer (back) and cornerback Patrick Robinson (foot) all remained limited for the second consecutive day.
Outside linebacker Martez Wilson (elbow), receiver Marques Colston (foot), outside linebacker Junior Galette (hamstring), offensive tackle Zach Strief (neck) and offensive guard Jahri Evans (back) were all full.
For Tampa Bay, cornerback Michael Adams has been ruled out for Sunday's game with a knee injury after not practicing Wednesday. Tight end Tom Crabtree (ankle) is the only other Tampa player who didn't practice Thursday.
Cornerbacker Rashaan Melvin (hamstring) was bumped up to full practice a day after being limited while defensive end Adrian Clayborn (hip) was limited Thursday after being full Wednesday. Guard Carl Nicks (foot) also was limited.
