SLIDELL, La. -- Police are searching for the man who 'pistol-whipped' an elderly Slidell business owner last week, said Capt. George Bonnett, a spokesman for the Slidell Police Department.

The incident happened Sept. 30 at about 7 p.m. at the Big T Tires off Hwy. 11.

Bonnett said the gunman ran from a wooded area and approached the owner and one of his employees when they were closing up the store. He demanded cash and struck the owner with the gun. After grabbing the money, he fled back into the woods.

The owner, who is 80 years old, broke his hip when he fell to the ground.

The gunman is described as a black man with a muscular build, about 5'8' to 6' tall, and he was wearing a mask while dressed in all black.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
