NEW ORLEANS -- Plenty of names were added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, but unfortunately New Orleans' own The Meters were not among them.

This was the group's second nomination in as many years.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's newest inductees are Cat Stevens, Hall and Oates, Nirvana, the E-Street Band and Kiss.

The official induction ceremony is in April.

Fans were allowed to vote for the second year in a row, adding their votes to those from artists, historians and music industry professionals.
