MARRERO, La. -- A New Orleans man wanted for fatally shooting a man in November 2013 at the intersection of Lasalle and Josephine streets was arrested Friday by U.S. Marshals in Jefferson Parish, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Kevin Anthony Blazio Jr., 33, was arrested by authorities at a home in the 1200 block of King Road in Marrero, said police.

Blazio was wanted for shooting 32-year-old Jamold Smith, who, on Nov. 18, was found by police shot multiple times inside a car in Central City.

Detective Ryan Vaught was able to develop Blazio as a suspect through witnesses. Blazio was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, where he is currently awaiting extradition to Orleans Parish where he will face the charge of second-degree Murder.
