MANDEVILLE - St. Tammany firefighters are investigating a blaze that badly damaged a home in Mandeville on Saturday.

Officials with St. Tammany Fire District #4 say firefighters responded to a fire near Orleans Street and Adair Street at around 4 p.m.

The fire started in the back of the house and travelled through the attic. Officials say the ceiling collapsed into many of the rooms. Two bedrooms in the back were destroyed by the fire. Heavy smoke and water damaged the rest of the house.

Fire officials say eight people were home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
