NEW ORLEANS, La. -- It was a violent weekend in New Orleans where a total of seven people, including a one-year-old girl, were shot in four separate incidents, two of the seven died.
Two of the victims have died from their injuries and now police are looking for the gunmen.
The violence started on Saturday night when a car pulled up to a home in the 2100 block of Pauger Street and opened fire on four people sitting on the front porch of a home.
23-year-old Charles Collins was killed and three other people, including a one-year-old girl were injured.
Family members say Collins died while trying to save the little girl.
'He was running trying to get in the door, by seeing the baby outside, he turned back around to shield the baby. So with him shielding the baby he got shot up,' said Collins' cousin Kashandra Romant.
The one-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the leg but is expected to be okay.
The other two surviving victims remain in the hospital in stable condition.
New Orleans police are also trying to find the person who shot and killed a woman in Central City.
That shooting happened at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Dryades Street.
Authorities say 21-year-old Lanisha Scott was shot in the head and taken to the hospital where she later died.
Then, at around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, police were on the scene of a shooting in the 1200 block of Belleville Street in Algiers.
Police haven't released many details on this incident, other than that an unidentified man was shot at the location.
His condition is not known Monday morning.
Sunday night, a man was shot near the intersection of Feliciana and North Dorgenois Street, in the 9th ward.
At the scene, police did find a wrecked SUV with a number of bullet holes.
The extent of the victim's injuries is unknown at this time.
