NEWORLEANS-- New Orleans police have arrested a woman as a possible accomplice in a shooting Wednesday night on Canal Street.

The shooting happened at about 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Bourbon and Canal streets.

Police identified 21-year-old Niya Harris as the shooter Wednesday evening. NOPD spokesman OfficerFrank Robertson said she allegedly fired the shots after she got into an argument with the victim, who was hit in the leg.

Robertson said Sade Bardell, 21, helped threaten the woman by pointing a gun at her.

The NOPDplaced both women under arrest within 24 hours of the shooting. They are being held in Orleans Parish Prison.
