JEFFERSON, La. A grand jury has indicted a man and woman in connection with the murder of a woman whose dismembered body washed onto a Mississippi beach in 2012.

Margaret Sanchez, 30, and Terry Speaks, 41, both face charges of second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruction of justice.

The charges stem from the killing of 22-year-old Jaren Lockhart. Lockhart, a dancer on Bourbon Street, was reported missing in June 2012. Several days later her body parts washed ashore in Bay St. Louis.

Sanchez and Speaks were the last people seen with Lockhart. They were filmed together on a French Quarter surveillance video.

Speaks, a convicted sex offender, was being held in federal prison in New York on another charge. His sentence was set to expire in the fall.
