NEW ORLEANS -- Who Dats were glued to their seats during a roller coaster ofa playoff game against the 49ers.
Fans erupted in cheers after a 4th quarter touchdown, but burst into tears minutes later.
Now fans say they are hopeful for next season after Saturday's emotional loss.
With less than two minutes left on the clock, the cheers were deafening in a Mid-City bar as the Saints scored a touchdown, putting them in the lead.
'My heart is beating, but I have faith,' said Anika Muslawski of New Orleans. 'I believe. I believe! Who DAT!'
But as the clock ticked away, the 49ers scored a last minute touch down and the Saints never recovered.
'We thought we won like two minutes ago, a minute ago, we thought we had it' said Jennifer Kelly of New Orleans. 'Everybody was celebrating here. And where did that touchdown come from, oh my God, we're all disappointed, it's very very disappointing.'
'I just can't, I can't get over it. You know I thought we had the game won and last second they made a touchdown, it's unbelievable, I'm very sad though,' said Gerald Morris of Metairie.
It was a close, nerve-racking game that had fans either on the edge of their seats or cheering on top of them.
'If there was a battle if I've ever seen one that was a battle this year,' said Ryan Overkamp of New Orleans. 'The '9ers got us today, obviously, but I can't knock them on that they played a hell of a game.'
There may have been tears and disappointment. But after getting so close to victory Who Dats have a message for San Francisco.
''9ers we'll see you next year,' said Overkamp.
After a record-breaking season, many fans are hoping the Saints go all the way next season, when the Superbowl is in New Orleans.
