A follow up to a touching story we told you about on August 25, 2011.

Back then, Ochsner labor and delivery nurse Melanie Williams and her husband Brett, got news that their third child, Olivia, would be born with a severe heart defect.

To survive, she would need several surgeries early in life. Olivia is now seven-months-old and the Williams family was named ambassadors for the first Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day in the legislature in Baton Rouge.

The Williams family wants to make legislators aware that Louisiana is lacking in doctors who have the same credentials as those at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where Olivia's surgeries were performed.
