NEW ORLEANS -- Mayor Mitch Landrieu's son Benjamin blew a .124 percent in his breath sample test when he was arrested Tuesday morning for a DWI, according to a police report acquired by Eyewitness News.
The police report says that Benjamin Landrieu told police he had 'four or five' beers and had stopped drinking around 12 a.m. It also says that he didn't remember where he was coming from or where he was going to.
Police placed him under arrest after he was involved in a single-vehicle accident around 1:45 a.m. in the 8100 block of Zimple Street.
The 19-year-old was booked on three charges, including driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vehicle and driving on a roadway laned for traffic.
Mitch Landrieu addressed his son's arrest at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
'I love my son very much, unconditionally,' Mitch Landrieu said then. 'But bad decisions have bad consequences, as I have said many, many times and there is no doubt there will be legal consequences to the bad decisions that Ben made last night and other family consequences as well.'
