KENNER, La. - Around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, a four-car accident occurred on I-10 heading towards Baton Rouge between the Loyola exit and the 310 split, according to the Kenner Police Department.

By 6:30 a.m., all lanes had been reopened. Although the earlier closures caused delays back to Williams, traffic was moving regularly.

The accident began when a driver slowed down his vehicle after blowing a tire. The driver was then struck in the rear by a second vehicle. The second vehicle swerved into a third vehicle.

Meanwhile, the first vehicle swerved after being hit, which caused it to run into a fourth vehicle.

Firefighters spread sand over the roadway because a gas tank of one of the vehicles ruptured.

No one involved suffered a major injury, although two people were sent to the hospital and others suffered minor injuries on the scene.
