NEW ORLEANS -- The 23-year-old woman who helped destroy evidence in the French Quarter murder of a young Marine was sentenced Monday to two years in prison.

Helaina Amrine previously pleaded guilty in state court to obstruction and accessory after the fact in the murder two years ago of Marine Sgt. Ryan Lekosky.

With credit for jail time she already served, Amrine will soon be released.

Amrine's boyfriend, Melvin Clay, was convicted a week and a half ago of fatally stabbing Lekosky after a Halloween night fight in the French Quarter.

As part of a plea deal with prosecutors, Amrine testified against Clay.
