NEW ORLEANS -- A school bus for KIPP Renaissance High School was struck in its rear by a car Monday evening, sending several students to the hospital.

The accident happened near Mazant and N. Robertson.

The students, aged from 17 to 19, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. They complained of neck and back pain.

The driver of the car, 39-year-old Ammar Gader, was cited for following to close.

There were eight students on the bus.
