NEW ORLEANS -- The Coast Guard rescued a man from the Carnival Conquest cruise ship by helicopter Saturday after he seemed to be suffering a brain hemorrhage.

The man was rescued about 60 miles south of Southwest Pass.

Coast guard officials say the 46-year-old man was suffering symptoms associated with a brain hemorrhage.

The man was taken to West Jefferson Hospital to be checked out. Details on his condition have not been released.
