NEW ORLEANS -- Police have identified a 16-year-old as one of the suspects in a brutal attack in the Marigny.

A trio of suspects are accused of hitting a man with a bottle near fracturing his skull near the intersection of Chartres and Mandeville streets on March 10.

Police say detectives in the 8th District were able to identify 16-year-old Brian Ellis as one of the suspects.

A second victim came forward and told police the three suspects tried to rob him as well.That incident happened near Chartres and Governor Nicholls streets several hours before the Marigny attack.

Ellis faces an aggravated battery charge.
