METAIRIE, La. -- Authorities are looking for a suspect who robbed a bank in Jefferson Parish, according to Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Around 3:30 p.m., an armed man entered the Metairie Bank in the 7100 block of Veterans Boulevard, walked up a teller and demanded cash, according the sheriff's office.

The suspect fled east Veterans Boulevard. Police describe the suspect as a white male, between 25 and 35 years-old, weighing around 170 pounds, wearing a baseball cap, a gray hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans, armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun.
