NEWORLEANS-- Local authorities will again return to Bayou St. John to search for a missing Jefferson Parish teacher Terrilynn Monette.
Harbor Police will be joining the search, bringing a 50-foot boat to help in scouring Lake Pontchartrain, state Representative Austin Badon said.
'They are going to enter Lake Ponchartrain in the Seabrook area. They are going to start searching from the Industrial Canal all the way to West End,' Badon said.
Last week, Wildlife and Fisheries agents searched about 30 feet off of Lakeshore Boulevard, said Badon. Harbor Police will expand the search to 100 feet from shore.
The New Orleans Police Department dive team will search about 25-26 'target items' and investigate large items, such as vehicles, in Bayou St. John. 'We got some real good sonar images showing that some of these vehicles have been in the water for a short period of time.'
According to police, Monette was last seen in the early morning hours of March 2 on a traffic camera near City Park as she turned left in her Honda Accord from Harrison Avenue to Marconi Drive.
