NEW ORLEANS - Nothing warms hearts- and bellies- like Louisiana cooking.
That's why three New Orleans chefs are gearing up to help Oklahoma tornado victims the best way they know how.
The non profit Three Chefs, One Mission is planning to cook Louisiana seafood for victims and first responders. The food will be served in a festival style atmosphere, complete with live
Louisiana music, much like events the non profit has held for tornado victims in Joplin, MO and Tuscaloosa, AL, and for victims of Hurricanes Sandy and Isaac.
It's all aimed at helping people escape from their troubles for a day.
'It's something that the soul needs,' said Greg Reggio, chef and co-owner of Zea Rotisserie & Grill and Semolina. 'And it's a little bit in knowing that the folks down in New Orleans, we've been there before, we know what you're going through. And this is something that it's going to have a great effect on you.'
The three owners of Zea and Semolina, also called The Taste Buds, are organizing the event.
The City of New Orleans is offering a generator and several firemen for the trip.
It is still in the planning stages and no firm date has been set yet.
