LORANGER, La. Authorities suspect that an argument between spouses led to the murder of a 27-year-old man's wife in their home Tuesday evening.

Richard Lagarrigue shot and killed his wife at their Prevost Lane resident at approximately 6:30 p.m., Tangipahoa Parish Information Officer Dawn Panepinto said.

Investigators in this ongoing case believe Lagarrigue armed himself with a handgun and fired one fatal shot at the victim.

He was arrested during a traffic stop and later sent to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail where he was charged with second-degree murder.
