MANDEVILLE, La. -- A 23-year-old Covington man was arrested Friday for breaking into a paintball proshop to steal a $1,200 paintball gun, police said.

Mandeville Police used video surveillance to identify Christopher Holden as the suspect who shattered the glass front door to Gunfighter Paintball with a large brick to steal a single 'dye'brand paintball gun around 4 a.m.

Phone records showed that Holden also called the proshop located on the 1800 block of North Causeway Approach inquiring about the same gun, police said. He later arrived in person under the pretense of potentially buying it.

Holden confessed to the burglary and turned over the stolen property located in his vehicle after agreeing to an interview with police, authorities said.

He was booked with the business burglary and possession of stolen property before being transported to the St Tammany Parish Jail.
