NEW ORLEANS - The general manager of the Entergy Technology Company has been arrested on a charge of possessing pornography involving juveniles.
The NOPD said that Earl Frederic, Jr., 66, was arrested Wednesday at his home. He posted a $25,000 bond and was released.
His attorney did not respond to a call for information.
At the time of his arrest, Frederic was the general manager of the Entergy Technology company, a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation, headquartered in New Orleans.
According to the NOPD, Entergy discovered that Frederic was downloading child porn on his office computer and notified police.
The arrest report states, 'the computer was receiving and transmitting mass downloads from child pornography web sites.'
The NOPD's Child Abuse unit and the Attorney General's Office obtained a warrant for Frederic's office where they confiscated a computer and several thumb drives.
A search warrant was subsequently obtained for Frederic's residence where investigators confiscated additional evidence of child pornography.
Entergy released a statement on the arrest: 'These are extremely disturbing allegations, and the company is fully cooperating with authorities in their investigation. Entergy's internal monitoring software detected potentially inappropriate computer-related activity by an employee, and the company immediately alerted the New Orleans Police Department. Pending further investigation, the employee has been suspended, and his access to Entergy facilities and computer systems has been revoked.'
