State Superintendent John White continues his push for education reform Tuesday.
White will tour six schools in Orleans and Jefferson parishes to meet with teachers, as part of the 'Louisiana Believes' statewide tour, which is drawing attention to changes in statewide education.
Superintendent White will focus on key issues, including early childhood network pilots, more rigorous standards and testing, and the state's diploma program.
The 'Louisiana Believes' tour will kick-off in Orleans Parish, at Fannie C. Williams Charter School, where White will discuss the early childhood pilot program, which is geared to getting children ready for kindergarten.
He will also touch on several other initiatives throughout the day, including course choice, expanding advanced placement, and the state's transition to more rigorous standards and testing.
The tour is expected to end the day at Delgado Community College, where White will discuss plans to improve the state's diploma system. This last leg of the tour is open to the public and begins at 5:00 p.m. at Delgado.
