NEW ORLEANS -- Five people have been shot, with two of them dead, in three separate shootings Wednesday night in New Orleans.

The latest double shooting happened in Gentilly in the 6000 block of Lafaye Street before 10 p.m.

One victim died in that shooting and the other is in the hospital in critical condition. The victims' identities are unknown.

Also in Gentilly earlier in the evening, a 26-year-old man was gunned down and killed in the 4700 block of Painters Street at about 8 p.m.

The victim reportedly told investigators that he saw a black man driving a grey Buick with dark-tinted windows fire the shots.

A 7-year-old girl and a 33-year-old man were both shot in Central City before 7 p.m. in the 2200 block of St. Andrew.

The man was shot in the chest and is in critical condition, while the girl suffered a graze wound that is not life threatening.

Police haven't named a suspect or motive in any of these shootings.

None of the shootings seem to be related.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.

Note:The NOPD originally reported that the Lafaye Street shooting was a double murder, but later said they were incorrect. One person has died in that double shooting, not two like NOPD reported.
