JEFFERSON PARISH, La. -- ANew Orleans man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a Gretna police officer saw the man fire a gun at another man on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish.

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, around 6:30 a.m. Officer Dana Parker was on her way to work when she saw Dannie Conner, 30, of New Orleans, fire a gun in the direction of another man in the 1100 block of Manhattan Boulevard.

Conner then jumped into a white van and got on the Westbank Expressway. Officer Parker called to the JPSO and began pursuit. Authorities stopped him at the Terry Parkway off-ramp.

Conner was booked with Illegal discharging of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and resisting arrest by flight.
