A woman who was on her way to visit her grandchildren in River Ridge had a close brush with death because of the flooding.

At one point, the water was so high on Wilker Neal Avenue in River Ridge that motorists couldn't tell where the road was and couldn't see the canal running alongside the road.

Joyce Ann Henry Lee was one of those drivers. She ended up driving her car in the canal and was unable to get out her car.

She thanked heaven for the two men and the woman who pulled her from her car.

'Thought I was going to drown because I can't swim,' said Lee. 'They carried me out of the car.'
