NEW ORLEANS -- A suspect has been arrested in a shooting and attempted robbery at popular Freret restaurant Dat Dog, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Police arrested Nathaniel 'Lil Brother' Jones, 19, in Kenner.

The shooting happened Monday around 10:20 a.m. Police say Jones, while wearing a mask, entered the businesses from the back entrance and demanded money from the manager.

Reports say the manager was reluctant to give the money up, and the suspect then shot him in the shoulder before fleeing without any cash.

The manager's injuries weren't life threatening, according to police.

Police say 'community cooperation' helped them identify Jones. A witness was able to positively identify him in a photo lineup.

Jones had been arrested for gun possession, theft, possession of stolen property and flight from an officer in the past.
