NEWORLEANS - The Super Bowl is almost here and many of the fans are already in town.

With extra tourists and road closures, it's getting harder to get around to all of the fun and festivities.

Due to congestion from Super Bowl Park at Jackson Square, the RTA canceled its Elysian Fields and Marigny-Bywater bus routes down Decatur. Streetcar service has been expanded on the riverfront so that commuters can get off at the end of Elysian Fields and take the streetcar to reach Canal Street.

The RTA has encouraged people to use public transportation rather than trying to get cars into the French Quarter and Central Business District areas. There is very little parking available through Super Bowl Sunday.

Extra streetcars will run every 10 minutes and extra buses will run every 15 minutes during peak hours (between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.)

The RTAwebsite has a tool that will give travelers the best route using public transit options.

Bike Easy is providing free bike parking at the Riverwalk Marketplace. B-Cycle is a free rental system that has kiosks set up at Riverwalk entrances on Julia Street and Canal Street.
