NEW ORLEANS Although a concerned citizen was able to remove a man from his car before it caught on fire due to an accident, the driver did not survive the car crash, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

The 27-year-old man was driving a four-door white Chevy Cobalt lake bound in the 7900 block of Mercier Street around 1 a.m. Friday.
