With roughly three hours to go before free agency officially opens, we've yet to hear about anything happening with the Saints.
But look at it this way.
The closer we get to the witching hour, the more likely it seems that the major cuts that we expect will be no more than restructures.
It seems unlikely that those in charge would wait until the last minute to make major cuts of players who have been an integral part of the Saints' success the past five seasons or longer.
General manager Mickey Loomis and Khai Harley, one his top lieutenants, know they have to be under the cap by 3 p.m. They also know that to be able to play in the free agent market, they'll have to know what they have in-house.
In other words, the closer we get to H-hour, the more likely it is that Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith stick around New Orleans.
