NEW ORLEANS - The New York Jets are showing some interest in Saints running back Chris Ivory and several reports say they would be willing to trade for the back, as long as the price is lower than the second-round pick that Ivory would currently command.

The reports on several national web sites, including ESPN.com, NBCsports.com and the New York Daily News, said Ivory had visited the Jets on Friday and that the club is hoping to work a deal with the Saints for something less than the club's second round pick, currently the 39th overall selection in the draft.

The Saints have a second-round tender on Ivory, who is a restricted free agent.

Ivory has been a fan favorite for his hard running style and his underdog status, but he has struggled to get playing time in a backfield that includes Darren Sproles, Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas.
