LSU dominated the all-Southeastern Conference coaches' first team, landing five spots on the list, while also seeing two of its players named pitcher of the year and rookie of the year.
Vanderbilt, the regular season league champion, had the SEC Player of the Year and the Coach of the Year. LSU beat Vanderbilt 5-4 in extra innings Sunday to earn the SEC tournament championship.
Aaron Nola earned the pitcher of the year honor after going 10-0 with a 1.94 ERA while Alex Bregman was the rookie of the year. Both earned first-team nods while Bregman also was the all-freshman.
Nola has pitched four complete games, including two shutouts, and has given up just 22 earned runs while striking out 105 batters in 102 innings pitched.
Bregman leads the team with a .378 batting average and 53 runs scored. His 96 hits and seven triples also lead the team.
Mason Katz was named first-team all-SEC first-baseman while also earning an all-defensive team berth. Christian Ibarra was the league's first-team and all-defensive team third-baseman.
Additionally, Raph Rhymes was a first-team outfielder while JaCoby Jones was a second-team second-baseman.
The Tigers will host an NCAA regional this weekend and is the national No. 4 seed in the overall tournament.
