NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in an armed robbery in Algiers.

The robbery happened at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 3000 block of General DeGaulle Drive at a Shell Gas Station.

According to police, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. He then fled northbound on Sandra Drive by foot.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 21 years old and around 4'11' to 5 feet tall. He weighs about 80 to 100 pounds. He was wearing a black v-neck short sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans.

The gun the suspect was wielding is described as a dark colored handgun.
