LAPLACE, La. -- A LaPlace man was found fatally shot to death inside a home early Wednesday, according to St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre. The homicide is the ninth of 2013 in St. John Parish.

Around 1:30 a.m., deputies were called to home in the 1500 block of Ellerslie Avenue on a report that a man had been shot, Tregre said. When deputies arrived at the home, they found Johnathan Toussaint, 33, inside his residence.

His wife had found him dead in a closet with bullet wounds, according to St. John Parish Sheriff's Office.

Toussaint had been shot multiple time and was pronounced dead on the scene.
