BATONROUGE, La. - Ticket prices could be increasing for LSU football games in several way, the school's athletic department announced Thursday.

According to the Advocate, the proposal would hike ticket prices by 6 percent from the current season. In addition certain areas of the stadium would see a hike in the Tradition Fund and the school would like to implement 'flexible pricing,' which would allow higher charges for bigger games.

The proposal will go before the board of supervisors Friday.

'This is the first time since 2010 that we have sought a price increase for football,' LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said in a statement. 'This increase is necessary for us to stay competitive at the highest level of collegiate athletics, but also because of the rising costs of doing business on a daily basis.'

As for the flexible pricing plan, the athletic department is seeking approval to price tickets based on opponent and the date of the game.
