CHALMETTE, La. -- It may have been slightly delayed, but the St. Bernard Irish Italian Islenos Parade rolled under sunny skies Sunday.

The parade, which celebrates the Irish, Italian and Spanish American heritage in the parish, originally was supposed to roll last week until rain moved in.

The parade is a big one, with 1,500 members, 43 floats and 300,000 pounds of produce.

There was plenty of cabbage to go around and parade goers couldn't get enough of it.

The parade's grand marshal this year was Sen. David Vitter and his family.
