KENNER, La. -- A Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman says they received a 911 call of a bomb scare at the airport, but the airport says they have cleared the area.
Deputies are on the scene investigating the situation.
Michelle Wilcut, a spokeswoman for the airport, said the non-specific bomb threat was called into the dispatch center after 8 p.m.
Wilcut said as soon as the call came into the communications dispatch center, the security protocol kicked in and they held all incoming flights.
She wouldn't elaborate on what the threat was or on the airport's security procedures. The media wasn't notified about the bomb scare.
Wilcut said the airport has since given the all-clear to resume incoming flights, and deputies are canvassing the parking lot.
