NEWORLEANS - Authorities are looking for an armed robber who held up an armored vehicle Uptown Monday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., the guards were making a stop at a business in the 200 block of Broadway Street, when a man armed with a gun approached and held up the Dunbar Armored truck, according to the FBI.

'The robber forced his way into the armored car at gunpoint when one of the guards returned from the business,' said Mary Beth Roming, spokesperson for the FBI. 'The robber forced the guards to drive the truck to the area of Chestnut and Audubon streets, where he fled the truck on foot in an unknown direction, taking a bag containing an unknown amount of money from the truck with him prior to exiting the truck.'

Authorities described the robber as a black male in his mid 20s to early 30s, armed with a black revolver, 6-feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing a long-sleeve blue shirt, dark pants, white cloth gloves with rubber tips and a white garden style hat covering his face.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 504-816-3000 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
