NEWORLEANS- A building in the Treme neighborhood was engulfed in heavy flames, according to reports and pictures that we've received from the scene.

According to Paul Murphy, reporting from the scene, the fire began around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, in the back of a home near the intersection of Gov. Nicholls and N. Robertson.

In a preliminary check, the home seemed to be unoccupied at the time of the fire and there seem to be no injuries at this time.

Fire officials say the fire began in the back of the home and quickly spread to the attic.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
