NEW ORLEANS - A knife-wielding woman robbed the Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank on St. Charles Avenue Wednesday morning, according to the FBI.

A spokesperson said the woman, who also said she had a gun, entered the bank at 321 St. Charles Avenue and was able to make off with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black female in her mid 30s to mid 40s, about 5'8' tall with a gray, sweaty, t-shirt; a black, fitted cap. She was also said to have acne scars and discoloration along her chin/jaw line. The FBI said the suspect fled on St. Charles Avenue and headed toward Canal Street.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 504-816-3000 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association (MOBSA) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
