JEFFERSON, La. -- The search for a missing Jefferson Parish teacher entered its 10th day Monday.
After a weekend of volunteers and police searching with no luck, Terrilynn Monette's family vowed to continue to try and find her.
From the Gulf Coast to the West Coast, friends and family of missing teacher Terrilynn Monette continued to try and find her.
'It's been 10 days today. I still have hope. I still have faith that she's gonna be found,' said Toni Enclade, Monette's mother.
In Long Beach, California Sunday night, friends held a vigil for her at her high school. Monday, some of her family members returned home to California from Louisiana. Monette's mother vows to keep searching.
'I just want her back. I'm looking at every black car in the street wondering is that her? Could that be her car?' Enclade asked.
Monette's two-door, black 2012 Honda Accord is still missing as well. New Orleans police said last week they had interviewed the man who was apparently in the car with Monette before she disappeared, and Monday they repeated that they have no suspects in the case.
'They haven't ruled out anything yet. They're continuing to search. They're continuing the investigation,' Enclade said.
Yellow ribbons now circle the trees outside Monette's apartment building. They're a sign that so many are still thinking about her.
'I need answers. I need answers,' she said.
New Orleans police said they weren't searching by water or by air Monday because of the early-morning threat of severe weather. However, they did say this weekend they searched at Bayou St John and at City Park because it's the most likely route she would've taken home.
But every day that goes by with no sign of Monette is another day her mother is left wondering.
'Terrilynn, momma is looking for you baby. I'm looking for you. I can't close my eyes,' Enclade said through tears.
Equusearch said Monday that they're still waiting to hear from NOPD about whether or not they can be of help in the search.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office used magnets and grappling hooks in their Bayou St John search Sunday, but found no sign of Monette or her car.
