NEW ORLEANS Police arrested two suspects a 13-year-old boy armed with what was later determined as a BB gun and 17-year-old Anthony Woodberry after they allegedly broke into a Bywater home and demanded the victim's car keys, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Around 2 p.m., the 13-year-old boy walked into a home in the 900 block of France Street and demanded car keys from the victim. According to police, the victim believed the 13-year-old was armed with a gun, according to police.
The victim told police a 'second gunman' later identified as Anthony Woodberry stood lookout in the doorway of the home, according to police.
'While this was happening, one of the victim's friends emerged from another room in the house, started yelling and startled the both suspects. Both took off in different directions. At that point, the victims called 9-1-1 and gave accurate descriptions of both perpetrators,' said a statement from the NOPD.
The 13-year-old boy was caught by Officer Kevin Rickmon by the St. Claude Bridge. He was carrying a BB gun, and Officer Melvin Wiltz caught Woodberry in the 4300 block of North Rampart Street. Woodberry did not have a weapon on him when he was apprehended, according to police.
Both suspected were identified by the victims and booked with aggravated battery, according to police.
