KENNER, La. - A 63-year-old man was arrested after police say he fired a shotgun at her as she fled their home Friday.
Police said Charles Gussett, fired the shot after he physically assaulted his wife during a confrontation in their home. The shotgun blast also damaged a nearby home.
Gussett was charged with attempted manslaughter, domestic abuse battery, aggravated criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of felonies.
Police said the shotgun utilized in the shooting was recovered and found to be a single-barrel, 12-gauge shotgun. Immediately after the incident, Gussett fled the location. He was taken into custody Sunday, after he returned to the residence. At the time of this press release, Gussett remains in custody, no bond has been set. |
