The labor of love of hundreds of New Orleanians was on full display Saturday for the feast of St. Joseph, an opportunity to view the altars erected in his honor by local Italian-Americans, churches and volunteers.

The fact that the feast day falls on a Saturday this year meant large crowds at many of the altars.

These are images from the altars at St. Francis Xavier Church (one of the largest in the area), Our Lady of the Rosary on Esplanade Ave. (organized by the Greater NewOrleansItalian Cultural Society), Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Kenner, St. Joseph Church on Tulane Ave., and St. Dominic Church in Lakeview.
